About the Project

In this project, you will be creating a distance sensor. It will consist of two pairs of an IR LED and an IR receiver. Depending on the distance of the object in front of each sensor, the respective visible LED will change its brightness. Drawing the object closer will increase the light's intensity and drawing it farther will decrease its intensity.

Breadboarding S.P.E.E.D.

For this project, you will need to pick up:

  • 2 IR LEDs
  • 2 IR Receivers
  • 2 Regular LEDs
  • 1 Arduino Nano
  • 2 Resistors 10k Ohm
  • 2 Resistors 82 Ohm
  • 2 Resistors 130 Ohm

If you are missing some parts, grab them from the OPS Parts Drawer on top of the grey OPS Kit Drawer. NOT THE ADVANCED PROJECTS DRAWER.
